There’s a policy change on the horizon for Google AdWords. I just galanced at it, and bits of it certainly raised my eyebrows.
Examples of products or services that enable dishonest behavior: Hidden or “secret” surveillance devices; hacking software or instructions; services designed to artificially inflate ad or website traffic; fake documents; academic cheating services
I particularly liked the bit above. One the one hand, this should go a ways towards cleaning up the bottom feeder types of adverts; on the other hand, without these types of ads will AdWords continue to remain as profitable? Not as relevant – they should increase in relevance, but will enough money continue flowing?
I also particularly liked this one:
Misrepresentation of Self, Product, or Service … making misleading or unrealistic claims regarding weight loss or financial gain
