So to avoid paying thru the nose to host a Terraria server for my son on AWS (I figured it was a way to have more control over what he connects to), I figured I’d host at home. Simples, right?
Nope. Seems AU telco’s (mine at least) disallow certain ports inbound to a house. They say they block 25, 80, 443 etc (obviously so you don’t host your own server), but it seems they also block anything above 1024. Initially I thought 4G APN’s were blocking the high ports , but another unblocked remote server also couldn’t connect in until I translated it to a port under 1024.
