With America changing leaders the auto lobby group smells a fresh chance to regress the automotive industry. Off topic: I expect there will be a LOT of similar approaches out of the shadows in the following months, as entrenched players in entrenched industries try to get Trump to change things to favour them. It will be interesting to see the decisions he makes, which will show the kind of leader he is more than campaign trash talk.
While in this instance I generally eye roll at the automotive industry wanting to go back to the “good ole days” of chuggers, I also have to think there is something to their claims that the passed on costs of making cars good enough, soon enough may make the cars too expensive for most customers to buy.
