Softly softly goeth the wheelchair

Normally I have the Smoov Power assist set to Sport mode, with powerful torque, fast acceleration, and high top speed.

However during wet days, those can be exactly the wrong settings for handling slopes on slippery surfaces.

The Smoov allows you to define modes with vastly different settings, and toggle between them simply. I defined a mode for this situation where the chair as a modest top speed, a slow acceleration, and gentle application of modest torque

On the one hand it can lead to frequent dips in momentum when traversing differing slopes. On the other hand it gives the traction motor a better chance of acceleration and pushing uphill without wheel spin on slippery surfaces (eg old worn smooth pavers).

The only improvement I can think of is a tap pattern on the control unit which could switch modes, rather than requiring the phone app open. However given the control unit is a generic, I’m not sure that’d be an option.
