Home Minecraft server “for the kids”

  • by

So today I decided to learn bit about minecraft – specifically to host my own on premise minecraft server. “For the kids” of course…

Something just made me decide to find out if/how to integrate minecraft in-game actions to IoT etc things. I figure my excuse can be finding out more to help the kids coding.

Setup was reasonably painless – though the VM I created for it didn’t work on our network, due to the manner in which I cloned it. Proofed modded minecraft server running, remote console, modded forge client, and basic node-red integration to it.

So, local minecraft server allowing mods running, able to be interacted with by our home automation server. Next step, pondering the minecraft side of IoT mods.
